7th Grade Field Trip - Cal Earth - November 5, 2013

Notes:

How to use the earth as a resource

Nader Khalili founded institute was an architect 

Wanted to use Natural materials 

Speak to societies real needs 

Built was 100% earth or 90% earth everything at cal earth

The source of abundance is the earth beneath our feet

Economy of people is the real economy 

Things we need in our lives community water housing 

Affordable homes and non toxic 

Sustainable culture 

Water is the next oil. The most sought after resource now. Catch water and direct it into our gardens 

Heat the house - inventing and developing ideas 

Non profit but have workshops it exists on tuition 

Change how we do things 

We don't have anything if we don't have relationships

They don't use the word dirt, only use the word earth. Rumi quote -
